Adjective ও তার ক্রম
সহজ করে বুঝি
ইংরেজিতে একাধিক Adjective পাশাপাশি বসলে তাদের একটা নির্দিষ্ট সিরিয়াল আছে — এলোমেলো করলে কানে খারাপ শোনায়।
‘a beautiful small old round black Chinese wooden dining table’ — খেয়াল করো, মতামত আগে, তারপর আকার, বয়স, আকৃতি, রং, দেশ, উপাদান, শেষে উদ্দেশ্য।
মনে রাখার শব্দ: OSASCOMP — Opinion, Size, Age, Shape, Colour, Origin, Material, Purpose। নেটিভরা এটা না শিখেই মানে, আমাদের শিখে নিতে হয়।
Adjective-এর প্রকারভেদ

| Descriptive / Quality | গুণ বোঝায় | a wise man, a red flower |
| Quantitative | পরিমাণ | much water, some rice, enough food |
| Numeral | সংখ্যা | five boys, first prize, many books |
| Demonstrative | নির্দেশ করে | this pen, those boys |
| Distributive | আলাদা বোঝায় | each boy, every man, either side |
| Interrogative | প্রশ্ন করে | Which book? Whose pen? |
